Organizers are dressing tables at the Wahpeton Eagle's Club with vineyard wine bottles and warm colors to create a "very Italian, very classic" atmosphere, said Jacqi Glenn, community relations coordinator.

Plans for summer farmer’s market progressing
If all goes to plan, Wahpeton will have its own farmer's market as early as late June. Man charged with child abuse, neglect
A Wahpeton man is behind bars after being charged with child neglect or abuse, a class B felony. Wahpeton police arrested Jonathan D. Thoennes, 19, Tuesday, March 9 after investigation lead law enforcement and Richland County Social Services to believe he physically abused his 4 1/2 month old child.

Alexandria company ‘not a responsible bidder’
The Wahpeton Public Works and Safety Committee reviewed Tuesday the contract bids for the upcoming North Central Area Streets Rehabilitation Project. The committee received six bids and will recommend to the city council Monday they award the project to second-lowest bidder Central Specialties Inc., Alexandria, Minn. They bid the project at $1,337,727.
