Hazelle M. Jorgenson, 95, Pelican Rapids, Minn., formerly of rural Erhard, Minn., died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at the Pelican Valley Health Center in Pelican Rapids.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5 at Tonseth Lutheran Church, 33672 County Highway 3, rural Erhard, with the Rev. David Eggebraten officiating.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4 at Olson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls, with a 7 p.m. prayer service; visitation resumes one hour prior to the services at the church.

Burial will be at Maplewood Lutheran Cemetery, rural Erhard.

Hazelle was born May 2, 1914, in Beach, N.D., the daughter of Charles and Priscilla (Southard) Foster. She attended school in Beach and then in Fergus Falls after her family moved there when she was 12 years old.

On Dec. 22, 1932, she married Harry Jorgenson at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church parsonage in Fergus Falls. The couple farmed in the Erhard area until 1973. Harry died in 1997. In 2001, Hazelle moved to the Mill Pond Apartments in Pelican Rapids, and in 2004 to the Pelican Valley Nursing Home.

Hazelle was a lifelong member of Maplewood Lutheran Church, where she played the organ and sang at many events. She was a witty person who enjoyed playing cards, snowmobiling, going for Dairy Queen treats and was a fan of the Minnesota Twins.

Survivors include: her children, Pat Holdeman of Erhard, Dean (Delores) Jorgenson of Willow City, Texas, Becky (David) Cusey of Moorhead, Minn., and Cyndy (fiancée Jim Gustafson) Kolle of Wahpeton, N.D.; daughter-in-law, Ardis Jorgenson of Erhard; 18 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Alyce Fick of Fergus Falls; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Preceding her in death were: her parents; her husband, Harry; son, Dell; daughter, Sharon; two sons-in-law, Clayton Holdeman and Jim Kolle; grandson, Tim Holdeman; three sisters, Nelle, Rena and Mary; and two brothers, Lyle and Claude.

Memorials are preferred to Lakeland Hospice, Maplewood Cemetery and the Pelican Valley Health Center.
